We are excited to offer up our first specialty class of the summer, Summer Strength School with Coach Justin. Many of you have been asking for this and Justin finally had enough time in his busy coaching/teaching schedule to help us run a specialty course. Summer Strength School is a 4 week "excursion" into getting strong. This will be done through a combination of Olympic Lifting, classic barbell movements (squats, presses and deadlifts) and accessory work. This course is perfect for you if you:
- Want to develop confidence and an appreciation for the Olympic Lifts (Snatch and Clean and Jerk)
- Have reached plateaus with strength and want to accelerate your progress in the lifts
- Need to dial in your form and technique so you can stay consistent under fatigue
- Are great with bodyweight and endurance but want a more balanced fitness
Summer Strength School is designed as a supplement to the normal class programming. So, you can continue to do CrossFit right along with the strength workouts. Here is how the program will work:
Two Coach led Sessions a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 530pm. One additional accessory/homework day that you can complete during Open Gym on Sunday or any other time the gym is open during the week. So, a total of 12 sessions over the 4 weeks.
When? The first class will start on Tuesday, July 17th and the last class will be Thursday, August 9th.
This will be a small group class (capped at 8 athletes). So, there will be lots of one on one coaching and video review of some lifts. With a smaller group, Justin will also be able to prescribe specific exercises to help you overcome any limitations.
Signing Up: The cost for the 4 weeks for gym members will be $99. All you have to do to reserve your spot is email firstname.lastname@example.org and say that you are in. The sooner the better as it is a hard 8 person cap to make sure everyone gets plenty of one-on-one attention.
