Day 16/21: Omega-3

Although the Primal lifestyle does butt heads with conventional wisdom in many ways the importance of Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly fish oil, is shared by just about everyone. We should always strive to find a balance between Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats in order to fight off inflammation and prevent a host of problems. Unfortunately, in today's world Omega-6 fats are in abundance. They are found in high quantities in industrial seed oils, grain fed meats and processed foods. By keeping your O3:O6 ratio in check you can reduce inflammation, lower heart disease risk, increase neural development.

Today's Challenge: Up your consumption of Omega 3 fats. If you are already taking fish oil, just keep it up! If you are not, get to a store and try some wild caught salmon or buy a fish oil supplement and add it into your daily routine.
